Ok so recently I got invited to come see the new 2014 Collaboration GQ have done with Gap in the Gap store in Dubai Mall, and as you are about to see the collection is stunning.
Sticking to its signature style of black-on-black street fashion, En Noir delivers a leather hoodie, a coated shirt, structured sweatpants, and a murdered-out 3-1 hooded jacket. Brooklyn Tailors drops the classics with a line ranging from smart suits and oxford shirts to a bonded raincoat and selvedge chinos. M.Nii adds a dose of beach-friendly Americana with threads like twill trousers, flannel shirts, striped pullovers, and a standout shearling corduroy jacket. John Elliott rounds out the offerings with a sharp line of basics that includes a hoodie, crew neck sweatshirt, baseball jacket and a pair of selvedge denim jeans.
"I go down the rabbit hole of fabric selection for my own line, and I took that same approach with my Gap stuff. Like the sweatpants: They're a signature for me, inspired by a late-1980s Colombian soccer pant that is really slim from ankle to knee. So the Gap version's fit is basically identical to mine. It's made from a thick French terry cloth that's really similar to what I use. And Gap even sourced high-end zippers."—John Elliott
Here is myself alongside the other Dubai based male bloggers including my close mates Paul Ramos and Mika Ashraf.
GQ for Gap collection is now in stores. The materials and style are like no other things Gap has produced and you certainly get what you pay for. Go and enjoy!
